How to audit an embroidery file before stitching

A preflight cannot guarantee sew quality, but it can catch obvious delivery problems before fabric, stabilizer and machine time are committed.

Check size against the hoop

Confirm that decoded bounds fit the available sewing field with room for placement and registration.

Review stitch and jump totals

Unusual totals can signal an empty file, accidental duplication or a design exported with the wrong density.

Inspect the color sequence

Compare the number and order of thread blocks with the production notes. Treat fallback preview colors as placeholders when the format carries no palette.

Create a proof record

Save a preview or contact sheet with the filename, format, dimensions and stitch total so approval refers to the exact file being produced.
